Kalgoorlie Race Round
Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club is the historic home of some of WA racing’s most prestigious Country Cups. The Round attracts many of the state’s leading trainers and jockeys and you may just get to see a new champion in the making!
Since 1896 the Round has been providing racing enthusiasts and the Goldfields enthusiasts at large an opportunity to experience excitement and entertainment at the historic home of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club.
From times past to recent years the Round has produced something extraordinary in the way of exceptional equine performance, fantastic entertainment or personal memories and I would see this event as being no different in that respect. It has proven to be a time of year when just being there is well worth it.
Western Australian Museum – Kalgoorlie-Boulder
The Western Australian Museum — Kalgoorlie-Boulder showcases the rich history of the Eastern Goldfields and the city’s mining heritage.
Discover the unique role the town has played in WA’s development, both as a centre of mining and its place at the edge of the Nullarbor Plain.
Explore the largest display of the State’s collection of gold bars and nuggets, step back in time to see how prospectors searched for this precious metal, and learn about the life and hardships faced by mining families during the early 1900s.
While visiting the Museum enjoy fantastic panoramic views of Kalgoorlie from the Headframe.
Questa Casa Brother Tour
Questa Casa, aka "The Pink House", is the ONLY original brothel remaining from Kalgoorlie's famous gold rush. The pink tin is a stark reminder of ages lost. See the only remaining starting stalls which are still in use to this very day. Tour the rooms where many a miner emptied their wallets, walk where they walked, and where many left their hearts.
The guided tour lasts a little over an hour and takes you through the historical working areas of the house. Through the starting stalls at the front where the ladies first talk to the gentlemen (sometimes they are caught doing other things!!), and through rooms which the ladies use every night, the same rooms that have been used since this house was established.
Diggers & Dealers Conference
| This leading annual mining conference combines presentations by listed mining and exploration companies with a large exhibition area housing exhibitors from the mining, exploration and service sectors.
A world class entertainment program ensures that delegates experience the very best of the style and hospitality of Kalgoorlie, the unofficial gold mining capital of Australia. The Forum, the most important event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, was the brainchild of the late Geoffrey J. Stokes.
A delegation of 150 back in 1992 has now reached a record high of 2400 for the three-day and three-night event. The Forum has developed into an enduring mining industry event, thanks in no small part to the support of industry leaders worldwide.
The delegation is made up of mining and exploration companies, brokers, bankers, investors, financiers and mining service industries. A 70 strong media contingent ensures that the proceedings of the Forum are widely reported.
